Holly Highlights #2

Kimberly Costal Camp

Fish and chips al fresco

We took a helicopter to KCC and landed in a helipad made of crushed shells. It was fun in the helicopter with headphones and talking into the microphone. We had yummy dinners and lunches, like Alex's caught barracuda and fries by the pool. I enjoyed meeting Olly the Olive Python who lives under the stove in the kitchen. We had lunch in cave, with lots of art in it like the Gillinger that started life as mermaid. There were also Windjana. It was like camping in a cave.

Mornington Wlderness Camp

Looking for birds at Annie's Creek

It rained for the first time on our trip and we could hear it in the safari tent. We had bacon and eggs for breakfast four days in a row. We went on a. Nature tour around Annie's creek and heard a barking owl, saw a pheasant cocall, and a bowerbirds bower.

Bower, check out his shinny rocks and trinkets

Bullo River

We watched cows having their testicles removed, gross! We went quad biking everyday, it was fun except when you were on the back you got dust in you eyes. We went horse riding on Palomino and met Charlie, a cute few weeks old little foal. I hooked a 2.5m crocodile when fishing. We fed Margaret the orphan cow a bottle of milk that we had to make.

Happy rider!

Cape Leveque

Shells, shells, and more shells,

Collecting loads of pretty shells and making a necklace was a highlight and I have two big sandwich bags full off shells! We swam in the ocean not far from our campsite right in front of the beach every day. I got dumped by a huge wave when I was not looking, and I got sand in my gums and everywhere else.

Home at Cape Leveque, site of my first dumping!

Double trouble, Western beech, Cape Leveque

Horizontal falls

Landing on the sea in a seaplane was rather cool and going on a speedy boat doing very sharp turns was scary. We got to stay on a boat in the middle of the ocean and the water was full of sharks and ginormous fish!

Home in the water at Horizontal Falls

Swimming in Gorges

I am the first in the water at all the gorges and waterfalls with mummy! Alex hates the cold water and is always the last one in. I love the cool water, but the ice cold water in Karijini made we shiver, jeepers creepers! The Tarzan rope at Galvans gorge was fun.

Intrepid explorer... swimming everywhere!
