Arnhem Land

Apologies but way too many photos in this post!

Arnhem Land has been a real treat. Unspoilt, massive, dramatic wilderness. We stayed at Davidsons Safari Lodge and have been spoilt rotten. It is going to be hard to recrossed the East Alligator River and return to camping!

Crossing the crocodile infested East Alligator River into Arnhem Land

Welcome to Arnhem Land… stunning drive in!

Phew, made it… unecessary anxiety about crossing a tidal crocodile infested river!

Somewhere on the 45k “road” to Davidsons.. explorers?

Davidsons main building… it really is in the middle of nowhere!

Kids room… hardly tough!

Cabins spread around the campus

Davidson’s was glamping accommodation (with a definate emphasis on the glam, rather than the camping), with twice daily guided excursions to unbelievable places. We have been treated to fabulous vistas of the wetlands and the escarpments, abundant wildlife, incredible access to aboriginal art and burial sites, spectacular accommodation, and excellent food.

One of our bush walking experiences… all different, all spectacular.

Caves, bats, art …. wow!
