Whale Sharks
This is a bit random, but WE SWAM WITH A WHALE SHARK! It was so exciting, so I thought I would post it… more on the rest of our Cape Range experiences later.
Yesterday, 9 October, at exactly the half way mark through our trip, we went out on the Ningaloo Blue Eco tour around the reef to see turtles, whales and manta rays. We did not expect to see whale sharks as they leave the area in July although we secretly had hoped to see them. They are the iconic image of the Ningaloo World Heritage area and the largest fish in the world, and are so distinctive for their size and striking markings.
Amazingly for us, the recent blood moon lead to a coral bloom and the whales had come back! We got to snorkel twice as the 6 meter whale shark gently cruised by only a few meters away in the crystal clear water off Ningaloo reef. Even the kids got a chance to be close to this amazing creature and seemed as in awe of the experience as us!

How amazingly exciting Call on Tim Winton Holly your blog is so good . I so love to read all that happens. Love to you all xxxxxxxxxxxx
