Uluru Kata Tjuta
We arrived from Coober Pedy just in time to make sunset. Wow… what a spectacular way to be introduced to Uluru. We made it despite the masses of cars with similar plans and the single person manning the Park gate at sunset doing their best to make sure that none of us got there!
Next day was a visit to Kata Tjuta, the Olgas and a 7km walk around the Valley of the Winds.
The final morning at Uluru was Holly’s birthday. Presents, and then a vigourous 10k walk around the base of Uluru, before moving onto Kings Canyon having bought the most expensive diesel yet… 220 at litre 😕
The camp site was big and spacious and despite the fact it was full, it was remarkably quiet. The nights were cold, and the day did not really warm up until 11am, the wind was bitterly cold. Thank goodness for the powered site and our trusty little blow heater!
